How to Edit Your Facebook Profile

By Techwalla Contributor

A comprehensive Facebook profile introduces you to a wide audience. After you've been on Facebook a while, take the time to flesh out the details of your profile. Don't include any information that would affect your safety -- your home address, for example -- but take the time to list your interests and hobbies to accurately express your personality.

Things You'll Need

Step 1

Log in to your Facebook account.

Step 2

Click on the "Profile" link in the upper right corner of the page to go to your Facebook profile.

Step 3

Click the "Edit Profile" button in the top right corner of the profile.

At the left of the page is a list of sections. Begin at the top by clicking "Basic Information." Change any information you please in this section. Use the audience selector to the right of each item to determine whether the item should be visible by the public, friends, only you or a custom variation. Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the screen.

Step 5

Continue to check on the categories at the left of the page to make changes and enter new or additional information. Click "Save Changes" on each screen before clicking on the next category.

Step 6

When you are finished editing your profile, click "View My Profile" at the top of the page to see the changes. To see what a particular individual sees when he views your page, click "View As..." and input the friend's name.
