How to Embed a Song on Facebook

By J.M. Chanel

Facebook allows users to embed video clips directly to their profile, but offers no support for embedding audio clips as of the time of publication. To upload and embed an audio clip, such as a song, to your profile, you'll need to use a free online sound hosting service such as SoundCloud or ReverbNation. While any Facebook user can share a link to SoundCloud and have it appear as an embedded Flash audio player, ReverbNation's audio player can be embedded only into a Facebook page for a band or musician through the use of ReverbNation's Band Profile Facebook app.

SoundCloud

Step 1

Open your Internet browser and visit facebook.com. Log in to your account.

Step 2

Visit soundcloud.com in your Internet browser. Click "Sign Up" on the SoundCloud homepage. A pop-up window will appear.

Step 3

Click "With Facebook" to register for SoundCloud using your Facebook login information. Click "Confirm" on the next page that appears in the pop-up window to complete registration. You will be redirected to your SoundCloud account dashboard.

Step 4

Click the "Upload" link and select the song you want to embed on Facebook from your computer.

Step 5

Fill out the artist and title information and click "Save." You will be redirected to the SoundCloud streaming Flash audio player for your song file.
