How to Embed PDF Files As Messages in Emails

PDF (Portable Document Format) files were designed to provide a means of transferring information between computers. In wide use today, PDF files can be read by using the free Adobe Systems program, Adobe Reader. Embedding a PDF file to an Email can be accomplished directly from the “File” menu of the Adobe Reader program. With the millions of computer users with Email addresses, embedding (or “Attaching”) files to Emails has become a popular method for exchanging files.

Things You'll Need

  • Email program (such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, etc)

Step 1

Open the desired PDF file in Adobe Reader (available for free download at the Adobe website).

Step 2

Open the "File" menu in the top menu bar.

Step 3

Click "Attach to Email." Your email program will open up automatically and your PDF file will be embedded into a new email message.
