How to Empty the Inbox in My iPhone

By Leigh Thompson

Your iPhone inbox contains all the emails that you receive on your device. You can have multiple iPhone inboxes depending on the number of email accounts you set up. On the iPhone, you can delete email or move it to email folders to empty the inbox. Do this by opening each email individually or by doing a mass deletion or move.

Individual Deletion

Step 1

Open the "Mail" application on your iPhone. The button in the top-left corner indicates which inbox you are in. Click this button to change accounts. This is necessary only if you have more than one email account.

Step 2

Click on an email.

Step 3

Click on the center icon that looks like a trash can on the bottom toolbar to delete the email.

Step 4

Click on the second icon that looks like a folder with a down arrow to save the email to a folder. Click the target folder to move the email.

Step 5

Continue this process for all emails in your inbox.
