How to Enable Adobe Plug-Ins

By Stephen Lilley

The Adobe plug-ins for web browser are designed to make your Internet experience both easier and more satisfying. Adobe makes a variety of plug-ins, all designed to work in conjunction with an Internet connection, like Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash Player. If you want to enable these or any of the other plug-ins designed by Adobe, you'll need to download them (for free) and install them on your computer.

Step 1

Go to (see References section).

Step 2

Click on the "Get" button that represents the Adobe plug-in you'd like to enable on your computer. The four consumer-level plug-ins that Adobe makes are Reader, Flash Player, Shockwave Player and Air.

Step 3

Click on the yellow "Download Now" button on the page that appears. This will download the installation file for that plug-in to your computer.

Step 4

Double-click on the file from Step 4 to launch the setup utility. Click "Next" a few times to install the plug-in. Once the setup process is complete, that Adobe plug-in will be properly enabled on your machine.
