How to Enable JavaScript on a Mobile Phone

By Steve Gregory

Many mobile phones today are sold with Web browsers built into the operating system. The browsers allow users to view mobile versions of Internet websites and, in some cases, the full website. Some websites run JavaScript programming, which allows small programs, such as Internet clocks, to run. If JavaScript is disabled on your mobile phone, you will be unable to view some of the content on JavaScript-enabled websites. You can enable JavaScript by turning on the feature in your phone's system or browser settings.

On the iPhone

Step 1

Tap the "Settings" icon.

Step 2

Tap "Safari."

Step 3

Tap the switch next to "JavaScript" to turn it to the "On" position.

On an Android Phone

Step 1

Launch the Android browser.

Step 2

Press or tap the "Menu" button.

Step 3

Step 2
