How to Extract Files From VDI

By Tammy Clevenger

A VDI is an image of a virtual machine created by VirtualBox. One way to extract files from the VDI image is to install VirtualBox and re-deploy the image. However, if you do not have the time or inclination to re-deploy the VirtualBox image, use an image mounting software, such as PowerISO, to mount the VDI image. Once the image is mounted, you can extract individual files from the image and save the files in another location. Download and install PowerISO from A free trial version is available.
