How to Find a House on Google Street Views

Google's Street View is a useful tool that can provide many benefits for users. You can use the tool to view a house you are interested in leasing or purchasing or view the location of a building you will be visiting. Google developed the tool by sending out thousands of cars equipped with special 360-degree cameras, taking pictures all across the world to build a panoramic street view.

Step

Visit Google.com and click on "Maps," located at the top panel. You can also access Google maps directly by visiting the first link in the Resources section at the bottom of this article.

Step

Type the address of the location you want to view, including the city and state. Click on "Search Maps."

Step

If you do not know the street address or lot number, simply type the street's name, followed by the city and state.

Step

Click the red pinpoint icon (usually the letter "A") located on the map display, and then click "Street View."

Step

Navigate the street view with your mouse. To change your view, hold your left mouse button and move your mouse to the right or left (it's capable of 360-degree views). To change your view up or down, hold your left mouse button and move your mouse up or down.

Step

Browse for the building by clicking the arrows. Even if you've entered the exact address, it's unlikely the street view will immediately show the house. The street view addresses are approximate.

Step

Zoom in on the building, if desired. To zoom in, double-click your mouse. To zoom out, right-click and choose "Zoom Out."
