How to Find Facebook Community Pages

By Marie Cartwright

Facebook pages give people with similar interests a way to meet new friends and organize events. Whether you are hoping to meet fellow hobbyists, fans or just people in your area, chances are that there are thriving communities of like-minded folks already active on Facebook. Facebook's integrated search function is easy to learn and use. To search for Facebook pages, you will need a Facebook account.

Step 1

Log in to your Facebook account. Type a keyword or phrase related to your area of interest into the search field at the top of your Facebook homepage. Sample results will be displayed in a drop-down menu below the box as you type. If you wish to see a wider range of results, finish typing your phrase and click the magnifying glass icon at the right of the box. A list of search results will load.

Step 2

Click the "Pages" link in the left sidebar. This link is marked by an icon depicting an orange flag. The search results will be filtered to include only pages that contain your search phrase.

Step 3

Scroll through the list of results. To see a page in its entirety, click on the blue title link. You can always press the "Back" button on your browser to return to your search results. If you wish to narrow your results further, type a new phrase into the search field beside the "Pages" header (not the main search field that you used previously).

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't find a page that suits you, try searching instead for groups. Smaller communities or people with niche interests tend to favor groups over pages.
