How to Find Information on a Cell Phone Number
Different from landlines, cell phone numbers are not listed in phone books and can't be found by calling information. If you do a thorough search on the Internet, you may find what you are looking for.
Things You'll Need
- Access to the internet
- The Cell Phone Number you want information on
- Some Time and Patients
Type the cell phone number into your favorite search engine such as Google and see if anything comes up. Include the area code first, such as 000-000-0000. Without the area code, you won't find the correct information.
Check an online cell phone directory. Search Google for "free cell phone directories." Information from these directories is generally limited. It is a good starting point and will usually give you the cell phone number's carrier and the city where the billing address is registered.
Search reverse look-up sites. If they ask for a fee, skip them and look for another one that offers the service for free.
Tips & Warnings
- If you complete a thorough search online, using as many free sites as you can find, you should be able to find the information without paying a fee.
- If the person who owns the cell phone number pays a fee to his cell phone provider to keep his number private, then you may not find the information you are looking for.
