How to Find Out if You Were Googled

By Faizah Imani

When a savvy Internet user wants to know more about you, one of the first places he will look is Google. Some employers even use Google searches to find out more information about current employees and potential new recruits. There is no way at present to find out who has been googling you, but there is a way to find out if you have been googled.

Step 1

Access the Google Keywords Tool.

Step 2

Look underneath the "External Tools" tab. Select "Keyword Tool".

Step 3

Type your name into the box that is labeled "Word or Phrase". If you go by different names, you can search for multiple names. Only enter one name per line. For instance, you can enter "John Doe" on the first line and "JD Doe" on the second line.

Step 4

Click the "Search" button.

Step 5

Review the search results. If your name has ever been googled, it will appear in the search results. The "Global Monthly Searches" column will show the average amount of times your name has been googled each month, for the past 12 months.
