How to Find Stolen Ipods Through iTunes

By Joshua Bailey

Find my iPhone was one of the best new applications for use on the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. If for some reason your iPod Touch becomes missing, you can use the GPS chip inside to see exactly where it is. In order to use this feature, you will need to have a Mobileme account. This is definitely one of the best tools out there for such an expensive device. It might help you save your money instead of having to buy another iPod.

Step 1

Turn on your iPod Touch and swipe your home screen until you see the "Settings" icon. Press the icon and you will be brought to your system settings.

Step 2

Press the "Mail, Contacts and Calendars" link to be brought to the next page of the settings program.

Step 3

Set "Fetch New Data" to the on position by pressing the on/off slider. This will allow notifications to come through regarding your lost iPod Touch.

Step 4

Select your MobileMe account and slide the Find My iPod Touch feature to the on position like the previous step.

Step 5

Open your iTunes MobileMe account and turn on "Find my iPod Touch" from the left menu. MobileMe will locate your iPod Touch and tell you exactly where it is.
