How to Fix a Broken Flash Drive

Things You'll Need
Place the flash drive into a computer's USB port.
Select "Control Panel" under the Windows "Start" logo, then "System and Security" and "Administrative Tools." Double-click "Computer Management."
Click "Disk Management" in the left window pane.
Right-click the flash drive and press "Format."
Press the "Format" button.
Tips & Warnings
- Keep the flash drive in a dry area.
- Do not remove the drive from the computer while it is being formatted.
