A CD player is an essential device for any music lover. At times, however, it can be a frustrating piece of equipment if it does not work correctly. Do not fret, however, since there are a few steps you can take to rectify the problem, especially if it a case of the CD player not opening.

Things You'll Need

  • Paperclip

Step 1

Turn the CD player off. Turn the CD player back on. Resetting the CD player may rectify the problem.

Step 2

Find the small pin hole next to the CD tray or in the back of the device. Place the end of a paperclip in the hole. Push it in so it releases the slot. This may cause the CD tray to open.

Step 3

Turn off the CD player. Unplug the device. With your fingers, attempt to gently slide open the CD tray. Try not to put a lot of pressure on the device.
