How to Fix an FPA Lock on an RCA TV
RCA televisions come with an FPA lock that disables the buttons on the front of the set to prevent children from operating the TV. The message "FPA Lock On" appears on the screen if any of the front panel buttons are pressed. Cancelling the lock removes the button restrictions and stops the warning message from appearing. The FPA lock control is in the "Preferences" section of the television menu, which is accessible using the television's remote.
Press the "Menu" button on the remote control.
Tap the "CH -" button until the cursor highlights "Preferences."
Press the "OK" button. The "Preferences" menu appears on-screen.
Tap the "CH -" button until the cursor highlights "FPA Lock."
Push "Vol +" and the FPA lock status changes to "Off."
Press "Menu" several times to exit the menu. The buttons on the front of the set will work as normal.
