How to Fix Ipod Touch with a White Screen

Don't panic if the screen on your iPod Touch turns white. Turn the iPod off and back on again. If the screen is still white, perform a Reset on the device. Move on to the more serious Restore, if the Reset doesn't do the trick.

Step

Reset the iPod Touch. Hold the "Home" button and the "On/Off Sleep/Wake" button down at the same time for at least 10 seconds or until you get an Apple logo on your screen. You have rebooted your iPod.

Step

Restore the iPod if the Reset doesn't fix the problem. Attach the iPod to the computer using the cable that came with the iPod. ITunes launches on the computer.

Step

Select your iPod under "Devices" in the left navigation panel of iTunes.

Step

Select "Restore" in the main window of iTunes, under the "Summary" tab. Follow the onscreen prompts to back up and restore your iPod to its original factory conditions. This process erases all the files from the iPod.

Step

Choose to treat the iPod like a new iPod or to repopulate it with data from your back up.

Step

If neither Reset nor Restore solve the white screen problem, take the device to your nearest Apple-certified service technician. Eject the iPod from the computer before removing it.
