How to Get Nook Books on the iPad App

By Spanner Spencer

When you purchase an ebook from Barnes & Noble's online bookstore, the purchase is associated with your account rather than a particular device. This means you can download your purchases to a Nook eReader device, or to a Nook application on a device such as the iPhone or iPad. Once you have installed the iPad's Nook application it has full access to your existing library, allowing you to put your Nook books onto the iPad for reading wherever you take the device.

Things You'll Need

  • Barnes & Noble Nook account

Step 1

Launch the Nook application on your iPad by tapping its icon on the Home screen.

Step 2

Enter your Barnes & Noble Nook account username and password in the dialog box that pops up and prompts you to sign in. Tap the "Sign In" button to continue. Your Barnes & Noble library will be displayed.

Step 3

Tap the "Download" button at the bottom of an ebook's thumbnail image on your library page. The book will be downloaded to your iPad, ready for you to read.

Step 4

Browse the bookstore categories or type a search term into the "Search" box in the upper right corner to search for a specific book on the online Barnes & Noble store. Tap an entry in the search results to open the book's listing page, followed by the "Buy" button to purchase and download the book to your iPad.
