How to Get "Pokemon" GBA Games on Your iPhone

By Geoffrey Ng

A jail broken iPhone is capable of installing games, such as “Pokemon,” that are intended to be used by other devices, such as the GBA, or Game Boy Advance. "Pokemon" is a classic role-playing game that is based upon a Japanese cartoon show. You can download games from the Apple store using your iPhone, but "Pokemon" is not available for download. "Pokemon" GBA game installation requires a jail broken iPhone. If your phone is already jail broken, then "Pokemon" can be yours for free without using a computer.

Step 1

Tap the “Cydia” icon with your finger. The “Cydia” icon appears on your home screen once you jail break your phone.

Step 2

Wait for the “Cydia” application to load data. After the application has finished loading, you will be brought to a blank screen.

Step 3

Find the “Manage” tab on the bottom of your iPhone touch screen. It is listed in a row with four other icons. The “Manage” tab has an image of an open book right above the “Manage” text. Press the tab and you will be brought to the Manage menu screen.

Step 4

Tap the “Sources” button with your finger. This will bring you to the Sources Menu screen.

Step 5

Tap the “Add” button that is located in the top left corner of the screen. It is adjacent to the “Sources” menu button.

Step 6

Find the URL login screen that says, “Enter the Cydia/APT URL." Use the QWERTY digital keyboard to type the following URL address: "" (without quotes).

Step 7

Tap the “Add Source” button that is located on the bottom left of the URL login screen next to the “Cancel” button. The source will load and bring you back to the “Sources” menu screen when loading is complete.

Step 8

Tap the “Add” button again on the top left corner of the screen to bring up the URL login screen. Type in this URL address: "" (without quotes).

Step 9

Press the “Add” source button and wait until the source is loaded.

Step 10

Find the “Search” tab that is located on the bottom right of your iPhone screen. It looks like a magnifying glass. Tap it when you find it. This will bring you to the search screen with a search engine bar on the top of the screen.

Step 11

Type in this search: "gpSPhone" (without quotes).

Step 12

Select the "gpSPhone + Bios" option that appears after the search is complete.

Step 13

Click the “Install” button on the top right corner of the screen. Press “Confirm” to approve the installation.

Step 14

Return to the “Sources” menu screen and click on the apt.123locker folder. Scroll down the screen until you find “GBA ROMs Package 1 (O-P).” "Pokemon" is included in this games package along with other games that start with the letters O and P. Tap on this and press install. Wait until the installation is complete.

Step 15

Tap the home button and click on the gpSPhone application, which looks like a Game Boy Advance.
