By Ty Arthur

If your laptop has been infected with a virus that automatically opens itself or prevents you from opening anti-virus tools, you mustaccess safe mode to remove it. Safe mode is an option that loads the operating system on your Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop, but prevents any extra programs from opening themselves immediately. Accessing the safe mode option requires restarting your laptop and going through the advanced Windows menu.

Step 1

Bring up the "Start" menu. Select the "Shut Down" option and then click "Restart."

Step 2

Wait for the Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop to begin its restart procedure. Press the "F8" key at regular intervals (every 3-4 seconds) when the Toshiba logo pops up on the screen.

Step 3

Continue tapping the "F8" button until the advanced Windows options menu appears. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list of advanced Windows options.

Step 4

Highlight the option labeled "Safe Mode." Press the "Enter" key and wait for the operating system to load in safe mode.

Step 5

Open any programs you want to access normally by double-clicking their desktop icons. Bring up the Start menu again and select "Restart" to exit safe mode and restart the computer normally.

Tips & Warnings
