How to Get Your Text Balance From Verizon

By Crystal Mercado

Text-messaging is an ideal way to quickly communicate with others through short, typed messages typically 160 characters in length. Cell phone providers often incur surcharges for every text message that is sent or received after the monthly limit is surpassed, making it essential for users to track their text messaging balance. If you are a Verizon customer, checking your text messaging balance can be done in less than a minute through either your phone or a computer.

Through the Computer

Step 1

Go to Verizon's main site and place your mouse cursor over "My Verizon" to access the sign-in box.

Step 2

Type your user ID and password into the fields provided and click "Enter" to access your account.

Step 3

Go to the "Overview" page to view your text messaging balance.

Through Your Phone

Step 1

Dial "#DATA" or "#3282" on your Verizon handset and press the "Send" or "Call" button.

Step 2

Listen to the automated voice until it mentions the status of your text-messaging balance.

Step 3

End the call and wait until Verizon sends you a text message. The text message will include your text-messaging balance for the month as well.
