How to Get YouTube Working Again on an iPhone

By Julius Vandersteen

Apple's iPhone is a smartphone with a multi-touch screen and two built-in cameras for taking pictures and shooting videos. The device connects to the Internet through Wi-Fi as well as cellular networks, allowing you to browse websites and use email. You can use the iPhone's native YouTube app to log in to your YouTube account and browse, search for and play videos. You can also upload videos that you shoot with the camera. If YouTube isn't working on your iPhone, you can change the phone's settings to enable the app.

Enable Wi-Fi or Cellular Data

Step 1

Look at the menu bar of your iPhone. If you see an icon of an airplane, it means "Airplane Mode" has been activated. This mode prevents you from connecting to the Internet.

Step 2

Press the "Home" button to return to the iPhone's home screen.

Step 3

Tap "Settings" and then tap the "Airplane Mode" option to "Off."

Step 4

Tap the "Wi-Fi" option to "On" to use Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet. Tap "Network" and then tap the "Cellular Data" option to "On" if you want to use your cellular network to connect to the Internet.

Step 5

Press the "Home" button to return to the home screen.

Step 6

Tap the "YouTube" app icon on the home screen to launch the application. If you don't see the YouTube app, you need to enable it in the settings preferences.
