How to Import Videos to an iPad
The iPad is a tablet computer made by Apple. It has a touch-screen display and two cameras, one on the front, and one on the back for shooting photos, videos and making video calls. It plays games and applications, and you can use it to listen to music and watch videos. The iPad can play videos formatted as .H264, .MOV, MPEG, .M4V and MP4. If you have videos on your computer that you made or downloaded from sites such as Apple's iTunes Store, you can easily import them to watch on your iPad.
Things You'll Need
- USB cable
Launch iTunes, Apple's free application for playing music, videos and managing your iPad. You were prompted to download iTunes and install it when you first set up your iPad.
Plug one end of the USB cable into the iPad, and the other end of the cable into the USB port on your computer. An icon of the iPad will appear in the left pane of the iTunes window.
Click on the iPad icon to select it.
Click on the "Movies" tab in the iTunes window. Click "Sync Movies" to automatically sync movies in your iTunes library. Click the "Automatically Include" pull-down menu to specify all movies, or to select just the most recent additions to the library. Click "Apply" and iTunes will transfer the videos to your iPad.
Click on "Movies" in the left pane of the iTunes window under the icon of your iPad. Drag videos from a folder on your computer into the iTunes window to copy them to your iPad.
Right-click on the iPad icon, and then click "Eject." Unplug your iPad from the computer.
