How to Insert Animation Into Outlook 2007

Adding a little animation to an email message is an easy way to make it stand out in the eyes of the recipient. Outlook 2007 allows you to add animation to messages by inserting animated GIF files into the message body. An animated GIF file is a type of graphic file that contains multiple images. The images in an animated GIF appear one after another, giving the illusion of motion.

Step

Open the Outlook email message you wish to insert the animation into. This can be either a new message you are creating or an existing message you are replying to or forwarding.

Step

Position the cursor at the spot in the message body where you want to insert the animated image.

Step

Click the "Insert" tab on the Ribbon. The Ribbon appears at the top of the open message window and replaces the menus and toolbars found in earlier versions of Outlook. The Ribbon has tabs and icons that vary depending on what you are doing at the moment.

Step

Click the "Picture" icon in the Illustrations group on the Ribbon to open the Insert Picture dialog box.

Step

Navigate to the location containing the animated GIF you want to insert. Select the GIF file and click the "Insert" button. This inserts the image into the message at the cursor's location.

Step

Complete the message and send it normally.
