How to Install Google Toolbar

Google is a widely used search engine, but you can do more than merely search with it. The Google Toolbar is a free download that you can get that has numerous great features. This toolbar has a superior search box, numerous custom buttons you can add to it, improved bookmarks, access to your Google account, auto fill features, pop-up blocker, spell check, word find and a lot more. It has an enormous amount of selections all located in one convenient place. Installing the Google Toolbar is a fast and simple process that even the novice computer user can complete.

Things You'll Need

  • Internet Connection
  • Windows XP SP3/Vista/7+
  • Internet Explorer 6.0+

Step 1

Access your Web browser and go to the main page of Google Toolbar. There is a link in Resources below.

Step 2

Initiate the download of the Google Toolbar by clicking the "Download Google Toolbar" on the right side of the page. The system requirements for installing the toolbar are displayed below.

Step 3

Read through the terms of service and tick the relevant boxes below if you want to set Google as your home page and default search provider. Click on the “Accept and Install” button and a security warning box will open -- click "Yes" to proceed. When installation is complete, click on “Restart Now” to relaunch Internet Explorer with the toolbar installed.

Here you can easily gain knowledge of all of them. Read the useful details provided for each option or complete a Help Center search, if you are unable to find what you want.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a popup blocker on your computer, you may have to disable it or allow changes, during the download process of Google Toolbar.
