How to Install Language Packs for Windows XP

By Mikhail Polenin

Your computer doesn't have to display the default language installed in its operating system. Microsoft gives you the ability to install new language packs for Windows to change the display to another language to make it easier to operate the computer. The settings for language exist in the region and language settings within Windows XP. To install a language, you must first have the language file ready.

Step 1

Click the "Start" menu and click "Control Panel."

Step 2

Double-click the "Regional and Language Options" icon. This takes you to settings related to internationalization of the operating system.

Step 3

Click the tab labeled "Languages" and click the "Details" button on that tab.

Step 4

Click the "Add" button and browse to the language you'd like to install.
