How to Install Spider Solitaire

By Gareth Downes-Powell

Spider Solitaire is a card game included with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. The aim is to remove all the cards from play, using the fewest amount of moves, by building stacks of cards of the same suit in sequence from king to ace. Although Spider Solitaire is a part of Microsoft Windows, it may not have been installed by default. Manual installation is done using the Windows Control Panel.

Step 1

Click the Windows "Start" button, and then click "Control Panel."

Step 2

Click on the "Programs and Features" icon to allow you to install or remove programs from Windows.

Step 3

Click "Turn Windows features on or off" from the menu on the left of the box.

Step 4

Click the "+" button next to the "Games" folder to see a list of the games included with Microsoft Windows.

Step 5

Click the checkbox next to "Spider Solitaire" to select it, then click the "OK" button. A new dialog box will appear with a progress bar; it will close automatically when "Spider Solitaire" has installed.

Tips & Warnings

  • "Spider Solitaire" can be uninstalled at any time by going through the same process in the Windows Control Panel, and de-selecting the check box next to "Spider Solitaire."
