Automotive forums, motorcycle forums, psychology forums, job market forums and much, much more are there for your discovery.

Things You'll Need

  • Internet access
  • Computer

Join Discussion Forums on Craigslist

Step 1

Log onto Craigslist (see Resources below).

Step 2

Click on 'Discussion Forums' and choose the forums that appeal to you.

Step 3

Scan the message threads of your chosen forum. If there is an (R) next to it, you will have to register before posting. You can still read the threads, but you won't be allowed to post without registering first.

Step 4

Click on the 'Register' icon to join Craigslist. To create an account, enter your email address.

Step 5

Create your 'handle' using any combination of upper and lowercase letters and numerals 0 through 9.

Step 6

Enter the scrambled identification code in the box below your handle. Click on 'Create Account' to finish.

Step 7

Read the threads that interest you. To reply to a specific thread, click on the 'Reply' icon at the top of that thread when it's open.

Step 8

Start a new thread if you want to start a new topic of conversation. Click on that option at the top of the list of threads in your open forum. Return later to see the responses to your post.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some of the forums require visitors to register if they want to post. Registration is not required to just read the threads.
  • If you run into any difficulties, visit the Craigslist Help Desk Forum (see Resources below).
  • Some of the threads posted in these discussion forums can contain objectionable material. Craigslist won't allow pornography or lewd material, but some of these threads are very candid. If you offend easily, read the titles before opening the full thread. Keep children out of range until you're sure of a particular forum's content.
  • When reading a forum with multiple threads, you may want to go to the beginning of the discussion to be able to put the most recent threads in context. Scroll down to the bottom of the forum list of threads to replay the ongoing conversation.
