How to Load Smileys Into Skype
Smileys, or emoticons, serve to spice up a relatively dull instant message. Skype, one of the leading video and instant messaging services in the world, offers a wide variety of emoticons to liven up your message. Skype will periodically add new emoticons as long as you keep Skype updated, but hidden smiley emoticons also exist. By typing in certain codes, you can access these hidden emoticons, which include "tmi," "rock" and "bandit."
Open Skype and click on one of your contacts to open an instant messaging box.
Type your message as you normally would, but do not send it yet.
Click the smiley icon above the box you type your message into. This will open a window with more than 70 emoticons that you can choose to add to your message. Click on one of these smileys if you want to attach one to your message.
Type in the code for the hidden smiley emoticon you wish to load into Skype if you do not like any of the preset smileys. To access them, type the code word--rock, drunk, tmi or smoke, for example--into the box and surround it with parentheses. For example, typing "(bandit)" (without quotes) into the text box will load a new smiley into your Skype instant message.
Send your message. If the hidden emoticon didn't work, make sure that you spelled the code word correctly and didn't capitalize anything.
