How to Locate Where a Cell Phone Call Came From

By Alexandra Bee

You may get a call here and there from a person you do not know or are unfamiliar with. You might also be receiving calls from a salesperson or other business repeatedly and want to verify who it is. Multiple methods allow the tracking of cell phone calls and addresses online---some others charge by subscription or per search. You can easily search for information on cell phone numbers and their details by simply having the cell phone number handy.

Free Directory Search

Step 1

Open your Web browser and go to a popular cell phone directory website. Many cell phone directory websites are available for free for everyone to search anyone worldwide (see References).

Step 2

Locate the cell phone search bar. Enter the cell phone's number you want to track and trace. Click "Search" or "Enter" to complete the search on the cell phone.

Step 3

Allow the website to complete the search and do not browse elsewhere while it is searching. Your results will appear within moments on the free directory website with information regarding the cell phone---including the address, if possible.

Paid Cell Phone Look-up

Step 1

Browse to a popular, verified paid cell phone reverse look-up (see References).

Step 2

Join the website and enter payment information if necessary to activate your ability to use the website's search features.

Step 3

Search the website and enter the cell phone number you want to trace. Allow the website to complete its search through its database. Do not browse elsewhere during this search, as it may disrupt it. Your cell phone results will appear once the search is complete. Each cell phone look-up service offers different features and looks up specific information---so be sure to read the website's terms to verify that the address of the cell phone will be found upon searching.
