How to Make a Birthday Card in Microsoft Word 2007

By Lanae Carr

Microsoft Word 2007 is a word processing software that introduced the concept of the "Ribbon" interface to Microsoft Office users. Word 2007 users now switch between tasks in the Word window using the oversized toolbar icons to access the standard features of the software. As with older versions of Microsoft Word, Word 2007 comes with hundreds of free templates in a variety of business and personal categories, such as address books, grocery lists and greeting cards. You can create and print publications as needed with only the help of an inkjet printer.

Things You'll Need

  • Inkjet printer

Step 1

Click the round "Menu" icon at the top left corner of the Ribbon toolbar in Word 2007. The Word 2007 menu icon is represented as the 2007 version of the Microsoft Office logo.

Step 2

Select "New" from the drop-down menu. A dialog box will open containing a list of templates organized by category in the left panel and a search command box at the top of the window. Type "Birthday Card" into the search bar. Alternatively, you can click the "Greeting Card" category in the left panel.

Step 3

Highlight the birthday card you want to use and click the "Download" button in the bottom of the dialog box. Your birthday card template will open, allowing you to edit its contents.

Step 4

Rearrange the clip art, insert text and change symbol colors to personalize your birthday card design. When you are satisfied with your creation, click the "Menu" icon then "Print."
