How to Make a Collage in Picnik on Facebook

By Lara Webster

The Picnik photo-editing website allows you to crop your images, add borders and alter the coloring. The program also makes it easy to create collages of a group of your photos. If you are a Facebook user, you're in luck -- a free Picnik application can be downloaded in just seconds. Use the Facebook app to create collages of images from your hard drive or Facebook and save them to your Facebook profile.

Step 1

Search "Picnik" in the Facebook search engine and select the "App" result.

Step 2

Click the blue "Go to App" button at the top of the page and follow the on-screen instructions to give the application permission to access your photos.

Step 3

Go to the "Home" tab when the Picnik app opens and then click "Welcome." Choose "Collage" from the "Welcome" toolbar.

Step 4

Select a style for your collage from the sidebar, which runs vertically along the left side of the collage screen.

Step 5

Scroll down to the "Photo Bucket" section at the bottom of the screen. Use the drop-down menu in the far left end of the section, which says "Get from Computer" by default, to select a source for your images. Click "Facebook" to use pictures you have previously uploaded to the site or that a friend has uploaded and made visible to you.

Step 6

Use the second drop-down menu, located immediately to the right of the source menu, to choose the Facebook friend whose photos you want to use. By default, the program selects your photos, and other friends are listed in the menu alphabetically.

Step 7

Use the third drop-down menu to select the Facebook album from which the photos will be selected.

Step 8

Click on a photo from the album -- photos are listed horizontally in the "Photo Bucket" section. Drag the photo to a position on your collage. Repeat the process for each image; change albums if necessary, or even the source, within the same collage by changing the selections in the drop-down menus.

Step 9

Rearrange the photos in the collage by clicking on an image and dragging it to a new position. Click "Done" at the top of the screen once the collage is finished to save it to your profile.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you already have the Picnik application, skip the first two steps and click on the "Picnik" logo on your Facebook homepage; the app section is in the page's left column.
