How to Make a New Email Account for Free
Email accounts allow you to keep in touch with family members, friends and other individuals in your life. You may also be required to set up an email account for business purposes if your work does not offer a free email service for employees. Having an email account allows you to receive and send files, such as word processing documents, to other individuals that also have email accounts. It costs nothing to create or use email accounts via the three email services listed below.
Visit the Gmail "Create an Account" Web page.
Type your first and last name inside the two name boxes at the top of the two "Name" text boxes inside the "Get Start With Gmail" box. Then, enter the account name you want inside the "Desired Login Name" box. The name must be six to 30 characters long. Click "Check Availability" to make sure the name is available. Change the login name, if necessary.
Enter your Gmail password inside the two "Password" text boxes. The password must be at least eight characters long.
Click the "Security Question" menu. Select one of the listed questions. Then, type in an answer for that question in the box below.
Type in another email address you use inside the "Recovery Email" box. This secondary email address can be utilized to recover your Gmail account if you have forgotten your Gmail password. This step is optional.
Enter your birthday inside the "Birthday" text box. Then, enter the "CAPTCHA" code listed on the page inside of the "Word Verification" text box.
