How to Make an Image Opaque

By Foye Robinson

An opaque image is one that is not transparent. When you place the image onto a background, the background's color and pattern on the page do not show through the image. GIF and PNG images allow you to create transparent backgrounds, while JPG or JPEG images do not. You can use an image editor to turn a transparent image into an opaque image. When you save your GIF or PNG file as a JPG, the image will be saved as opaque, but your original image will remain unchanged because you aren't saving over the original image format.
