How to Make Categories for iPhone Apps
With the iPhone, you can make categories for your apps to help organize your home screen and eliminate clutter. When you group apps by categories, the iPhone places the apps you select into a folder. Using app category folders will allow you to reduce the number of your iPhone home screens. Let the iPhone generate a category name for a folder, or customize folder names for a personal touch.
Touch and hold down an app icon on your home screen. All the icons on your home screen begin to wiggle.
Touch and hold a wiggling icon. Drag the app onto another app icon on your home screen. If you want to move the app to another home page, drag the selected icon to the right edge of your screen.
Let go of the wiggling icon on top of the other app icon to create a folder. The iPhone automatically generates a category for the folder based on the app's function.
Tap the "X" in the folder name text field to erase the iPhone generated category. Your on-screen keyboard appears.
Type in a new category name. Tap the "Done" button to save the change.
Press the home button once to lock all the wiggling app icons in place.
