How to Make Charter My Homepage

By Kimbry Parker

Charter is a website that offers free web content to high-speed Internet customers. You have access to sports, news, entertainment, weather and many other features. You can check the stock market, read your local news and play games on Charter's website. When you make Charter your homepage, you can customize the page to feature content that interests you the most. Although accessing the basic version of Charter is free, you can also upgrade to the premium service for $7.99 per month to have access to various subscription sites where you can play games, download music, watch videos and more.

For Mozilla Firefox

Step 1

Go to, which will take you to Charter's homepage. From here you can browse the site to see what it has to offer.

Step 2

Click on the "Tools" menu at the very top of the page, right above your navigation toolbar. Although there is an option on Charter's website that says "Make This My Homepage," clicking on this will refer you to the "Tools" menu anyway.

Step 3

Scroll down to "Options" under the "Tools" menu.

Step 4

Click on the tab labeled "Use Current Page." It is important to have only the Charter website open when setting the homepage. If you have other tabs open as well, you will be setting your homepage to all of the tabs you currently have opened.

Step 5

Select the "OK" tab at the bottom of the "Options" box. Your homepage is now set to Charter. Next time you open up Firefox you will be taken directly to Charter's website.

For Internet Explorer

Step 2

Choose an option when the box pops up on your screen. You can choose to either use Charter as your only homepage or add Charter to your homepage tabs if you prefer more than one homepage. Click on the appropriate circle of your choice.

Step 3

Click "Yes" at the bottom of the box. Charter is now set as your homepage for Internet Explorer.
