How to Make Friend Collages on Facebook

By Anne Baley

A collage is a visual representation of a group of related items, like many photos on a bulletin board. The Friend Collage app on Facebook gives you the ability to create a collage of your Facebook friends' pictures, in a variety of different styles. Choose from shapes like yin-yang and Mickey Mouse or pick a block of sepia photos. Friend Collage automatically gathers the photo of all you Facebook friends and arranges them in the design.

Step 1

Navigate to your Facebook wall and sign in if you need to. Do a search on Facebook for "Friend Collage." You will see a popup that asks for permission to link to the app. Click on the link to agree. The Friend Collage page will appear.

Step 2

Scroll down the page to view the choices of collage shapes and colors. Click the radio button above the version you want to use.

Step 3

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and add a caption to the collage, if you like. Click on the button marked, "Create Now and Post (Click Here)."

Step 4

Click on the links on the next page to send this app to your friends. If you want to skip this step, click on the link above that states, "Skip the steps and create a collage from your profile picture now."

Step 5

Click on the "Home" link at the top of the page to return to your Facebook wall. Find the collage as a status update at the top of your wall.

Tips & Warnings

  • The more friends you have on Facebook, the more varied the collage will be. Friend Collage will repeat photos until it has enough for the shape you chose.
  • Depending on the number of Facebook friends you have, creating the collage may take 2 to 3 minutes.
