How to Make Yahoo Your New Home Page

If you visit Yahoo often, you may want to set it as your homepage. This will save you time from having to enter it in the URL box, and it will also give you direct access to current news and your email. No matter which Internet browser you use, it takes little time to set Yahoo as your new homepage.

Mozilla Firefox

Step 1

Open Firefox and go to www.yahoo.com.

Step 2

Click the Yahoo icon located to the left of the address box and drag it to the "Home" icon. Click "Yes" to verify that you want to set Yahoo as your new homepage.

Step 3

Click the "Tools" button located in the menu at the top of the screen and select "Options" from the drop-down menu, to set a new home page from the Firefox options.

Step 4

Click the "General" tab when the Firefox "Options" box opens and either enter "www.yahoo.com" in the home page box or click "Use Current Page" if you are already on the Yahoo website.

Step 5

Click "OK." Yahoo is now your new home page.

Internet Explorer

Step 1

Open Internet Explorer and click the "Tools" button. Select "Internet Options" from the drop-down menu.

Step 2

Click the "General" tab when the Internet Options box opens and look to the "Home page" section.

Step 3

Type "www.yahoo.com" in the "Home page" box or click "Use current" if your browser is already at Yahoo.com.

Step 4

Click "OK" to change your home page to Yahoo.

Safari

Step 1

Open the Safari browser and go to www.yahoo.com.

Step 2

Click the "Safari" button and select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu.

Step 3

Click the "General" tab when the "Preferences" box opens.

Step 4

Click the "Set to Current Page" button located under the "Home page" box. You can also enter "www.yahoo.com" in the "Home page" box if it is not already there.

Step 5

Close out the "Preferences" box. Yahoo is now your new home page.
