How to Merge Two Video Files Together

By Theodora Pennypacker

In addition to commercials, you can produce videos to issue product demos, customer testimonials, corporate announcements and marketing packages. When it comes to distributing this content to your audience, you can utilize a file delivery service like Dropbox or YouSendIt, or a video sharing service like YouTube or Vimeo. If you have a pair of videos that you want to merge into a single clip, you will need to combine the media within a special program before you release it to your associates. MPEG Streamclip, iWisoft Free Video Converter and Freemake Video Converter are some examples of freeware that you can use to accomplish this task.

MPEG Streamclip

Step 1

Download and install MPEG Streamclip. Obtain the setup file for the free application directly from the software developer website (see link in Resources).

Step 2

Launch MPEG Streamclip. Click the “List” tab on the application menu and select “Batch List.” The “Batch List” window displays.

Step 3

Click the “Add Files” button and browse for the digital videos in the file selection window. Select the items and click the “Open” button to load the media into the application. A file export window displays.

Step 4

Open the “Please choose a task” drop-down menu and select the output format for the merged digital videos. Confirm that the “Join all the files” box is checked. Click “OK” and a file window displays.

Step 5

Select a storage location for the merged digital video output file. Click “OK.”
