How to Move Music From iTunes to Media Player

By Greyson Ferguson

iTunes and Windows Media Player are two different programs that allow you to play and listen to music. Although iTunes is required for syncing a computer with an iPod or iPhone, you may want to use Windows Media Player for other reasons. Because of this, it is possible to movie audio files directly from iTunes into Windows Media Player with just a few clicks of your mouse.

Step 1

Open both iTunes and Windows Media Player. Both programs have a desktop icon and are listed on the "Start" menu.

Step 2

Select "Music" in iTunes. This is a tab in the upper left corner of the programming window.

Step 3

Click on the music file you want to copy over to Windows Media Player.

Step 4

Drag the file over to Windows Media Player. Once the file is over the program window, release the mouse button. The audio file automatically loads into the media player. Click "Play" to begin to play the audio file.
