How to Perform a Toshiba Factory Restore

If you experience irreparable software and registry issues on your Toshiba, restoring your system to the factory settings is a viable option. Restoring the factory settings returns your Toshiba system back to a brand new state. The method of restoration is basic and doesn't take much time. Once you restore your Toshiba, your hard drive will be free of any previous damage.

Step 1

Save and back up any data you want to preserve to a flash drive.

Step 2

Turn off the system by holding the power button for at least 10 seconds.

Step 3

Press and hold the "0" key and simultaneously push the power button to turn the Toshiba on. Let go of the "0" key once the computer begins to beep.

Step 4

Choose "Yes" to begin the system recovery.

Step 5

Choose "Recovery of Factory Default Software" and select "Next." Choose the "Recover to out-of-box state." Select "Next."

Step 6

Select the last "Next" to start the recovery. Allow the process to complete and reboot your system. Choose your system preferences and set the time and date.
