How to Play USB Mp3's on a Car Stereo
Playing MP3 digital audio on a car stereo provides great convenience, as it eliminates the need to transport CDs and tapes. Instead of resorting to the radio or carrying around bulky audio sources, you can play large collections of digital music from MP3 players and USB storage devices if your car has a USB-enabled stereo.
Things You'll Need
- Car stereo with USB accessibility
- MP3 player
- USB storage device containing MP3 (optional)
- USB cable
Locate the USB port on your car stereo. This looks the same as the USB ports on your computer and other USB-enabled devices. The car stereo USB port may be located behind a sliding cover. Check your car stereo's user manual if you have difficulty finding the USB port.
Insert one end of your USB cable into the MP3 player you from which you wish to play audio.
Insert the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your car stereo. Ignore Steps 2 and 3 if you are using a USB storage device with a built-in USB output, as you will merely insert the device into your car stereo's USB port.
Use your "Source" or "Mode" button to select the USB device as your playback source if it does not respond automatically.
