How to Post Pictures From Your Phone to Facebook Through Text Messaging

By Leigh Thompson

Facebook developers make it easy to send status updates and photos directly from your camera phone to your Facebook profile. This is especially important for those people who have not upgraded to smartphones. Once you register your mobile number to your Facebook profile, you simply need to send a multimedia text message to Facebook with your picture attached. Facebook takes it from there and uploads it to your profile.

Register Your Mobile Number

Step 1

Go to the Facebook website. Log in to your account using your username and password.

Step 2

Click on the "Account" link in the top right corner. Choose "Account Settings" from the list of options.

Step 3

Click on the "Mobile" tab. Click the link to "Register for Facebook Text Messages."

Step 4

Choose your country from the drop-down box. Choose your mobile carrier from the drop-down box. Click the "Next" button.

Step 5

Text the letter indicated in the next prompt to the Facebook number 32665 (FBOOK). You will receive a confirmation code by text message on your cellphone.

Step 6

Enter the confirmation code in the text field labeled "2:" on the Facebook registration screen. Click the "Next" button. The Facebook "Mobile" tab reappears, showing your phone is activated.

Send Your Text Message

Step 1

Open your text messaging application on your cell phone.

Step 2

Attach your photo to the text message.

Step 3

Send the photo to the number "32665." Add a caption to your photograph by adding text to the subject line of the text message.
