How to Print From iPad to Wireless Printer Using iCloud

By Travis Meyer

Apple’s iCloud synchronizes files between your computers, making it possible for you to edit and share your iWork documents whether you’re on your iPhone, iPad or desktop. The option to print is among these sharing options, and is integrated into all of the iWork apps. By default, printing is handled by AirPrint on your iPad. As long as your wireless printer is compatible with AirPrint, it'll automatically establish a connection with your iOS device.

Things You'll Need

  • AirPrint-compatible wireless printer
  • iWork app

Step 1

Turn on your AirPrint-enabled printer and make sure it's connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 2

Open "Settings" on your iPad and confirm that it’s connected to your Wi-Fi.

Step 3

Open the iWork application hosting the document you want to print. For instance, if your iCloud document is a word-processing file, open Pages.

Step 4

Open the document from the iWork start screen.

Step 5

Tap the gear icon in the toolbar and select “Share and Print.”

Step 6

Select your printer’s name and tap the “Print” button.
