How to Program a GE Universal Jc022 Remote

By Robert Ceville

General Electric has designed its universal Jc022 remote so that it can be used to control a wide array of televisions. By programming the remote, you can have access to all of the controls that you would normally have to use on the front panel of the television. If you haven't ever programmed a GE universal Jc022 remote before, don't worry. General Electric has made the process very simple to accomplish.

Things You'll Need

  • GE Jc022 reference guide

Step 1

Look in the user reference guide to find the three-digit code for your make and model television. You will need this code to tell the remote the proper configuration for your set.

Step 2

Press the "Code Search" button on the remote until the red light comes on, then release the button.

Step 3

Press and release the "TV" button on the remote. You will see the red light flash once more, then stay illuminated.

Step 4

Enter the three-digit code that you found for your television set in Step 1. Use the numeric pad on the remote to make the entries. The red light should no longer be illuminated. If you entered an incorrect code by mistake, the red light will begin to flash.

Step 5

Press the "ON/OFF" button while your television is powered on. Your television set should now have powered itself off. If it did not, attempt to use another code from the user guide for your brand.
