How to Program a Sanyo Remote
A remote control that is used to control various brands of television is known as a universal remote control. One type of universal remote control that you may have for your television is the RMT-U100, which is manufactured by Sanyo. To program this remote for your television you will need first make sure that fresh batteries are being used. If you no longer have the manual for the remote, alternate instructions are available.
Things You'll Need
- AA batteries
Remove the battery cover from the remote. Press the tab down and then pull the cover off.
Insert two AA batteries into the remote. Make sure the “+” and “-” on the battery match the markings on the remote.
Replace the battery cover.
Find the TV code for your television. Go to the RMTU-100 Component Codes web page and scroll down to see available television codes.
Press the “TV” key on the remote and enter a two-digit code for your television. The "Mode" button will flash five times when the code is entered successfully. Enter a new two-digit code for the television if the "Mode" button fails to flash.
Press the “Power” button while pointing it at the television to test the remote.
Tips & Warnings
- You are also able to program the remote for a VCR or cable TV box.
- Make a note of the correct TV code so you will be able to easily enter it again if the remote needs to be reprogrammed to the television.
- The remote control will need to be reprogrammed when the batteries are replaced.
