How to Program a Time Warner Cable Remote
Among the many popular national cable companies in the United States, Time Warner works with nearly every major remote, company and station in its 31 states. Time Warner Cable works with cable boxes, home networking and standard cable. Time Warner remotes can be programmed to work with a number of devices, much like a universal remote. Your remote must be programmed before using with your particular cable setup, and this can be done in just minutes from your home as long as your cable is hooked up.
Make sure that the device that you wish to program is hooked up, turned on and working. Also, ensure that your remote is equipped with batteries.
Press the button on your Time Warner Cable remote for the device that you want programmed (for example: TV, cable, DVD).
Press and hold the "Setup" button on your remote. Hold the button until the remote's red indicator light flashes twice and turns off. Release the button at this point.
Use the Time Warner Cable site linked below or look in the remote's instruction manual to enter the four digit code for the component that you are programming. Use the remote's keypad to enter the code.
Watch for the desired component to respond by flashing its red indicator light twice.
Press the power button or the play button on your remote to test whether the programming has worked. Point your remote at the component and it should respond by turning off.
