How to Program a Verizon Television Remote Control
If you have just had Verizon FIOS installed, you will need to program the Verizon universal remote control with your television. If you would like to program the remote with other electronics, such as a DVD player or stereo system, this can be done quite easily as well by following the same steps. All in all, programming a Verizon remote control with a TV is a task you can do in just a few steps.
Program a Verizon Remote with TV Codes
Turn to Page 12 of the user manual to find the brand of your TV (see Reference). Every brand has a different code that is used to program the remote.
Turn on the TV.
Press and hold down the "TV" button located on the upper part of the remote, and press the "OK" button at the same time.
Release both the "TV" button and "OK" button at the same time. Once you've done this the TV button will blink.
Type in the four digit code for your particular TV brand. Once you've done this the TV button will blink three times.
Aim the remote at your TV and press the "Power" button. If the TV turns off, you have programmed the remote correctly. If it doesn't, repeat step 1 through 5 and try again.
Program a Verizon Remote without TV Code
Turn on the TV and then press and hold down the "TV" button on the remote control. Press the "OK" button while holding down the "TV" button.
Release both buttons. Once you do this, the remote should blink twice. Press "922."
Press the "Play" and "Pause" button at the same time while pointing the remote control at the TV.
Press the "Fast Forward" button. If the TV doesn't turn off, press it again. Repeat this until the TV turns off. The remote has over 200 codes to check, so it may take a while.
Press the "OK" button after the TV turns off to lock in the code.
