How to Pull Music Off an IPhone
An iPhone is a convenient device for loading music to enjoy anywhere and anytime, but getting the music off of it can be a hassle. Unlike other devices, the iPhone doesn't have a typical hard drive where you can just plug it in and download files to your computer. There are a few steps you can take, though, to pull the music off your iPhone, whether you are using a PC or a Mac.
On the PC
Plug the iPhone into your computer.
Go to your Desktop and open "My Computer," then find your iPhone drive and open it.
Go to "Tools," and then click "Folder Options" and the tab "View." Click on "Show Hidden Files and Folders," and click on "OK."
Go back to the iPhone drive and locate the new folder "iPod_Control" and open it.
Look through the folders for your songs, or use the Windows "Search" utility to find a file.
Use the mouse to click, hold and drag the file you want to your desktop or to another folder on your computer. You can also right-click on the file, select "Copy," navigate to the folder on your computer where you want the file, and then right-click anywhere in the folder and click "Paste."
On the Mac
Download Senuti, a free application that facilitates copying music from your iPhone or iPod to your computer.
Install the program and then open it, and choose what folder you want to use as your default copy location.
Plug in your iPhone, and all your music will show up in Senuti.
Select all the files and click the green "Transfer" icon and wait until the transfer is complete.
