CDs and DVDs contain very useful things, such as music to listen to, games to play, software to install or movies to watch. On a laptop, you can use a CD drive to play these games while on the road or away from your main computer by using the CD drive that is built into your laptop. You can put your CDs into your laptop using this drive and enjoy them just as if you were on your main computer.
Find the CD drive opening on your laptop. Typically this is located on the right side of your laptop near the back.
Press down the button on the center of the drive door. The CD drive will open. Pull out the drive until it cannot be pulled any farther.
Insert the CD into the CD drive. Press down firmly on the CD until it snaps into place, then push the drive back into the computer. The computer will then take 30 to 60 seconds to briefly read the CD and its contents, after which you can access the CD.
