How to Reach a Live Person on eBay
eBay offers its members several different ways to contact them when and if a problem occurs. As an example; members may email, live chat or even file a dispute through eBay, all without ever leaving the eBay website. Although these methods are generally considered the fasted and easiest way to contact the company, sometimes there is no way to fix a situation without talking to a live person.
Hold your mouse over "Customer Support" located at the top right hand top corner of the eBay home page. Select "Customer Support" from the drop down menu. This will take you to the Customer Support page.
Click on the "Contact Us" box located on the right hand side of the page.
Sign in to your eBay account with your User ID and password. You may also click on the "I'm a Guest" box if you are not registered with eBay.
Choose "Buying," "Selling," or "Account" from the "Select Your Topic" menu. Pick the topic from the drop down menu that most closely resembles the problem you are having. This will send you to a Customer Support page that will attempt to direct you to resolve your problem through a "help" search on the site.
Ignore the suggestion on the page to search for a solution on the site. Look to the right hand side of the page for Contact Us. Click on the "Contact Us" button. This brings you back to the Contact Us page with the "Select Your Topic" menu.
Click on "Call Us" on the right hand side of the page below "Connect with an eBay agent."
Write down the PIN and phone number (866-540-3229) that appear. The PIN number is only valid for a short period of time and must be used within 15 minutes. If you run out of time or do not remember the PIN number, simply follow the phone prompts to proceed with your call.
